Courses held at the Academy/Club

Welcome to the courses and flight instructions page. Here I'm going to give a brief description of the courses held at our Academy/Club. For these courses, we use Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 only. FS2000 will be introduced in the near future, but for now, we drill on FS98 best. This page will also include detailed information on Flight lessons & where we are exactly located. A brief description of the airport is also included. :)

The Fleet

Although the academy is new and has just been opened now, we allready introduced our new fleet too. The fleet of aircraft consists mainly of light General Aviation aircraft ranging from single-engine propeller aircraft, up to the latest multi-engine aircraft and turboprop jets. For introductory Flight lessons we use the following aircraft:

  1. Cessna 150
  2. Cessna 152

These aircraft are mainly used for first time handling of flight. We use them throughout most of the training.

When promoted to the PPL course (i.e. Private Pilot Licence Course), we start our training on these aircrafts:

  1. Cessna 172 (Still waiting to join our fleet)
  2. Cessna Cardinal 177RG Complex Retractable Gear Airplane

These are only used in throughout the PPL course.
The Academy also conducts training on the following aircraft throughout your PPL course: Piper PA28-161, Beechcraft Bonanza Complex V-Tail airplane.

After you pass all the examinations, and meet the necessary flying requirements, if you wish, you can also take the multi-engine rating, which will then lead you to training on larger Passenger Transport aircraft to get the ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot's License) & join our National Airline Air Malta. Further details will be given to you by e-mail after you complete the advanced Multi-Engine Course. So, please send us your e-mail addresses.

Multi-Engine training will also include Flight instruction on turbo-prop/jet aircraft which include our latest: Cessna Citation, Dassault Falcon X300, Learjet 45. Multi-Engine prop aircraft used for multi-engine rating include: Beech Baron C55, Beechcraft King Air.

Air Malta's Airline Fleet include: Air Malta B737-300, Airbus A320-200, B727-200
